I am so excited to come back to this again and again, I need all the help I can get in this arena! P.S. loved your October edit. That book is going on my TBR, love the puzzle, you and I share a fave diptyque scent, and those polka dot socks are SO cute!

Thank you friend! We do a puzzle every Thanksgiving morning (and only Thanksgiving morning, haha) I think that's the one!

The minute I turned 40, my makeup routine had to go through a complete overhaul because I uncovered a new allergy. I will live vicariously through this post. BUT your words about a diamond stud or pearl earring framing your face are just as powerful as any makeup is so true and really resonated with me. Loved this, Jen!

North of forty is full of so many, uhm, thrills, lurking at every turn! Yes, I am amazed by what simple studs can do to bright my complexation, especially when I feel not so pretty.

My sister swears by those bronzing drops, and she is *very* fair. I will be attempting the high pony post haste, my hair is v. long right now (for me anyway) even if my highlights and blow out don’t come close to Julia’s.

haha same, my highlights and blowout COULD NOT EVER, but I can try. I think the drops are perhaps uniquely good for fair skin bc they're not warm at all. Xx

The earrings - I still haven't recovered from losing a tiny diamond earring in a Target dressing room (I think) as a teenager. Added to my wishlist cart!

And thanks for sharing that article about toxic positivity and breast cancer. I have a family member currently going through it, and there's so much noise about how a cancer patient "should" be. I've learned just sitting and allowing space for them is all you need to do, no platitudes necessary.

These finds are gold. I’m a makeup girlie trying to recover from some hoarding years lol. You had me dying re: the upgrade to XL and acrylic box. I’m one step away myself.

I can also cosign that moondust shadow is the absolute best.

When you mentioned the reason you can’t have nice things (real diamonds) I felt so seen & am with you in solidarity.

yes! recovering hoarder here too! And I have one daughter who shares this trait and mercifully one who does not. Losing jewelry makes me absolutely crazy, and I do it so often I think I must have been born under a star or sign that is just not meant to own it.

I’m firmly NOT a makeup girl. Skincare; I’m working on it, makeup; not so much. Therefore this reporting is invaluable to me and the Westman bronzing drops just became a number 1 most-wanted for me.

PS- I checked out your October edit and I LOVE IT! Such a lovely mix of all.the.good.things! I can’t wait to watch month over month.

Jen, I’ve been so curious about the Westman Atelier drops, and you’re really convincing me with your review. You look absolutely glowing! I need to also start cutting myself off from using my phone earlier in the night - this was a good reminder!

Ah, The Family Stone. The last time I watched that movie (last December), I cried when Diane Keaton's CHARACTER died. I'm going to lose my shit this year. Anywho, I added that eyeliner to my Sephora cart -- been in the market for a new one to try so ty for your service. xo
