Popovers, House of Guinness and more straight leg denim
Hi, and if you’re reading this in the U.S., I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. My plan for tomorrow morning is fairly elaborate and dialed-in, and it seems like I add something new to it every year. Here’s my own personal itinerary.
7am: Wake up and do my own 5K on the treadmill. Ideally with Rebecca Kennedy.
8am: Make a simple-but-fun breakfast: Julia Childs popovers. I serve these with a strawberry butter that is literally just a mixture of strawberry jam and softened (salted!) butter. I make a lot of popovers between Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you don’t eat them all, they freeze nicely (in a Ziplock) and you can bring them back to life in a 300 degree oven for about 5-7mins. Invest in a popover pan for sure, it’s worth it.
8:30: Turn the Macy’s Day Parade on!
Commence with a 500-piece puzzle. (250 is too easy, 1000 will take us until New Year’s.)
Help with the puzzle while making my assigned dishes which run the gamut from sophisticated to insane: Smoky Carrots // Stuffing
